COURSE INFORMATION

  ACADEMICS

The Nurse Aide Training Course is designed to provide comprehensive classroom and clincial learning experiences to prepare students with the basic skills required of nurse assistants according to the Administrative Standards of the Indiana State Department of Health.  Students who successfully complete the course by meeting all academic requirements will be eligible to sit for the state certification exam to be placed on the nurse aide registry.

 

HEI is approved by the Indiana State Department of Health to conduct the Nurse Aide Training Course. We use the Indiana Nurse Aide Curriculum as the course text. 

 

Admssion to the Nurse Aide course is contingent upon submission of applicable documentation required for enrollment.  View the Admissions Checklist and start collecting necessary documentation at time of enrollment.

 

Students must meet the following requirements to successfully complete the Nurse Aide Training Course:

1) Pass the course with an overall course grade of 85% or higher

2) Successfully demonstrate 100% of Resident Care Procedures

3) Complete all required classroom and clinical hours

At HEI, we provide basic job-readiness skills to better prepare you as an entry-level health care professional.  Our job-readiness training includes resume building, interviewing skills, and effective communication techniques.  The curriculum includes mock interviews and resume review to help you get one step closer to your health care career.

RESIDENT CARE PROCEDURES

Resident Care Procedures are an important aspect to the Nurse Aide Training Course. Students must successfully demonstrate all Resident Care Procedures during the course. These procedures are mandated by the Indiana State Department of Health.  Click here to review all Resident Care Procedures.

QUIZZES & HOMEWORK

Quizzes and homework are essential to course success and completion.  Students can expect quizzes and homework during majority of classroom days. 

MOCK STATE EXAM

At the culmination of your training, you must become certified by the State Department of Health to be eligible to work as a nurse aide.  HEI prepares you for the state test by providing a Mock State Exam. Proper preparation for the state exam may reduce anxiety and enhance performance on the state certification exam.
